Today we’re sharing the late summer wedding of Michael Dahan and Kristin Burns, who surprised their family and friends with an intimate sunset celebration in the Hamptons. Michael and Kristin are both professional photographers, and along with their guests, captured these beautiful images.
Originally invited to an engagement dinner, Michael and Kristin surprised their guests with wedding invitations upon arrival. The picturesque scenery could not compete with the bride, who wore a shimmering Stone Fox Bride dress, floral crown, and beaded sandals. To compliment her Art Deco engagement ring, Kristin chose our vintage platinum patterned wedding band, engraved with the original couple’s 1946 wedding date.
The wedding party gathered on a private dock, led by our own Elizabeth Doyle’s son and daughter as ring bearer and flower girl. Both bride and groom had recently learned to play the ukelele, so Michael serenaded Kristin with a well-practiced rendition of “Here Comes the Bride” as she walked down the dock. A close friend, ordained online, performed a ceremony that he’d written and downloaded onto his iPhone (carefully camouflaged in an old book).
After the ceremony, Michael invited the bridal party back to his house for dinner and a jam session. Everyone, including the flower girl and ring bearer, partied and jammed into the wee hours using instruments brought by Kristin’s father. The next day, their newly ordained friend and his wife hosted an impromptu brunch to send off the new husband and wife in style.
