(H color, SI1 clarity), framed by two Baguette cut diamonds weighing approx. 0.14ctw., two Trillion cut diamonds weighing approx. 0.17ctw., and twelve Round Brilliant cut diamonds weighing approx. 0.12ctw., fashioned in platinum. Common lore is that the Marquise cut is named for the mistress of King Louis XV of France, Madame de Pompadour. In 1745, the King bestowed the title of marquise upon her in order to present her at court. A new diamond shape that first appeared in Paris at this time was named Marquise in her honor.
